TCS to start developing 100-acre Indore facility on Aug. 10
Information technology giant Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) has announced that it would start developing its 100-acre Indore facility on 10th of August.
The TCS facility will be developed in the Super Corridor area on the fringes of Indore city.
The decision about the development of the TCS facility was announced after Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with some senior government officers visited the Super Corridor area for reviewing arrangements.
After the completion of the first phase, at an investment of estimated Rs 550 crore, nearly 5,000 people will get direct employment while as many as 15,000 people will get indirect employment at the facility.
Speaking about the upcoming TCS facility, C. M. Chouhan said, "August 10 is not only a momentous occasion for Indore but also for the state as world's leading IT company, TCS, would start its local project in the city."
Separately, TCS revealed that it had won a major contract from Australian Pharmaceutical Industries for delivering SAP technology to unify & enhance mission-critical information technology systems across API's retail as well as wholesale operations.
In the April-June quarter of 2013, TCS pocketed consolidated net profit of Rs 3830.64 crore, up 6 per cent from the previous quarter.
