Sensex continues its lead, closes at 11,371 The BSE-benchmark-Sensex gained for the third day in a row after an extremely volatile session as investors took calculative steps ahead of F&O expiry on 29th April 2009.

In the morning, the domestic market opened on negative note tracking weak cues from the Asian markets. But during mid-session, the market gathered decent momentum to touch day's high on significant buying across the board.

However, despite sharp come back, market was not able to hold the same impulse and slipped again, on profit booking.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 276.44 crore in the March quarter of FY'08.

Further, the lender has registered 28.50 per cent jump in its total income to Rs 4,992.41 crore during the March quarter, from Rs 3,885 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

The company posted net profit after tax of Rs 68.20 crore against Rs 62.82 crore in the same quarter ended March, 2008.

However, the total operating income of the company during the quarter, stood at Rs 801.13 crore against Rs 796.36 crore over the same period last fiscal.

Triveni Engineering Q2 net profit soars 10%Sugar producer Triveni Engineering & Industries, on Monday announced a 10 per cent surge in its net profit at Rs 37.77 crore for the second quarter ended March 31, 2009, compared to Rs 34.28 crore in the year-ago period.

During the same period, company's net sales also grew by 21 per cent to Rs 457.58 crore in the latest quarter from Rs 378.27 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.

For the six months ended March 31, 2009, Triveni Engineering posted a net profit of Rs 61.75 crore as compared to Rs 59.96 crore.

Aptech, Falgo Group to setup various IT Training Centers in Brazil

Aptech, Falgo Group to setup various IT Training Centers in BrazilMumbai-headquartered Aptech Ltd, has entered into a 51:49 joint venture with Falgo group to set up various IT training centers in Brazil.

Under the arrangement, the company will setup its first centre in Brazil up by August.

Latest reports suggest that, investment in the Brazilian venture is pegged at $1 million. However, the final disclosure from the companies has yet to come.

The company said, all courses, which it offered in Brazil would be in line with the Brazilian university programmes.
