Aditya Birla Nuvo Q4 net plunges 63%; Scrip nosedives over 10% in a single dayAditya Birla Nuvo, a diversified conglomerate, has registered fall of 62.55 % in its net profit to Rs 26.39 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company had a net profit of Rs 70.48 crore in the same quarter ended March 2008.

However, company’s total Income has increased by 3.17% to Rs 1193.74 crore, from Rs 1156.95 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

The BSE Sensex closed today lower by 370.10 points at 11,001.75 while, NSE Nifty ended down by 107.65 points at 3,362.35. The Sensex touched intraday high of 11,375.97 and intraday low of 10,961.75.

M&M inks MoU with SBBJ for vehicle finance

M&M inks MoU with SBBJ for vehicle financeMahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a market leader in the Utility Vehicle segment, has signed a MoU with the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) for financing of vehicles.

Under the arrangement, customers can avail of a loan up to 85% of the on road price of the vehicle, with tenure of up to 7 years. In addition, they can also avail low interest rates amounting to 12% for passenger vehicles and 11.75% for commercial vehicles.  

M&M’s Automotive Sector makes a wide range of vehicles including MUVs, LCVs and three wheelers.

Videocon to launch its DTH Services D2H from May 1After a delay of nearly one and–a half-year, Diversified group Videocon has finalized May 1 as commercial launch date of its DTH Services.

Giving information regarding latest venture, a company official said, the platform has been named "D2H" and will be offered through its subsidiary Bharat Business Channel Ltd (BBCL), which is a media arm of Videocon Group.

The company with the launch of its service will become sixth DTH operator in the market, along with Dish TV, Tata Sky, Airtel, Big TV and Sun TV.

UTV Software posts disappointing results; Q4 net profit dips 51%UTV Software, the media and entertainment firm, has reported negative growth of 51% in its Net profit to Rs 13.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, against Rs 27.07 crore.

However, its total income surged by 7% to Rs 20.87 crore, as against Rs 19.41 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal.

The company, for the year ended March 31, 2009 has posted a net profit (after tax) of Rs 101 crore, registering a growth of 30%, against Rs 77.70 crore in the same period last fiscal.
