New Delhi, March 26 : Twenty years after being accidentally swallowed by a kung fu master during a training session, a chopstick has finally been removed.

The 21-cm stick was ingested by Wing Ma during an exercise.

Ma has revealed that he was conditioning his body to take pain when the accident occurred, Metro reports.

According to the China Daily, the 40-year-old was rid of the chopstick at a hospital in eastern Wuhan, China.

New Delhi, Mar 25 : The country is going to witness record production of wheat consecutively for the second year with output estimated to surpass 78 million tonnes.

Last year, 78.57 million tonnes of wheat was produced, which was the highest ever in the history of India.

New Delhi - India's benchmark Sensex index rallied for the third-straight day Wednesday, rising 2.08 per cent.

The 30-share sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, which touched an intraday high of 9,706.47, ended up 196.86 points at 9,667.9.

The Sensex has gained more than 700 points since Monday when it opened at 8,960.

Brokers said the bourse was buoyed by heavy buying of shares in Reliance Industries and other blue-chip realty companies.

New Delhi, Mar 25 : The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition by jailed Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) candidate Mukhtar Ansari for contesting in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

A division bench comprising justices Ashok Bhusan and Arun Tandon held that Ansari cannot contest elections as he does not have voting rights.

Ansari won in Uttar Pradesh''s Mau constituency in the 2007 assembly elections as an Independent MLA and is now a BSP candidate from Varanasi.

New Delhi, Mar 25 : Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPA) between India and Libya has become effective with the exchange of Instruments of Ratification (IsR) between them, here today.

Dr. Anup K. Pujari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India and Mohammed Saleh Ei-Saghier Milad, Director, International Legal and Treaties Department, Government of Libya exchanged the IsR at a ceremony presided over by L. M. Vas, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance.

With the exchange of IsR today, Libya becomes the 66th country with which our BIPA has become effective.
