Indian scientists told to create a curry fit for orbit!London, Mar 27 : A team of Indian military boffins has been tasked with a particularly tricky mission: to develop a curry to be consumed by astronauts in space.

Last month India had approved a 1.1-billion pound manned mission, and plans to send a man into space by 2015 and hopes to send some familiar food with him.

However, making food that tastes good in space can be a tedious task, according to A. S. Bawa, the director of the Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), who is tackling the project.

Bawa said his team faced several hurdles.

The software tycoon, who has paid 35 million dollars (24 million pounds) for his trip, will be the last tourist for the foreseeable future.

The British Medical Journal study suggests that pregnant females who do not quit by 15 weeks, are three times more likely to give birth prematurely and twice as likely to have small babies compared to women who have stopped smoking.

Mars domes may be mud volcanoesLondon, March 27 : Scientists at NASA have identified dozens of mounds or domes in the northern plains of Mars, which they say bear a striking resemblance to mud volcanoes.

According to a report by BBC News, the domes on the Red Planet were detected using images taken by NASA''s Mars Odyssey spacecraft, and Carlton Allen and Dorothy Oehler of NASA''s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Infrared data also show the domes cool more quickly at night than the surrounding rock, as one might expect if they were made of sediment.

The British Medical Journal research claims that drinking very hot tea (70 degree Celsius or more) can raise the risk of cancer of the oesophagus, the muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach.

Cancers of the oesophagus kill more than 500,000 people worldwide each year and oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the commonest type.
