Tata Tele Unveils ‘i-Help’ Emergency Service

Telecom service provider Tata Teleservices Ltd has made announcement about the launching of its emergency service, i-Help, which provide help to subscribers during any emergency.

In order to meet up different requirements of the subscribers, the newly launched service will have several services in its portfolio.

The customer care focused service would permit mobile users to make contact with their family members and friends immediately in cases of an exigency.

Pankaj Sethi, Tata Teleservices President (VAS) said, “The service will be helpful especially for people working in night shifts in BPO, mainly working women.”

To avail the service iHELP *44 Emergency, subsisting Tata Indicom subscribers will have to list the three preferred numbers to be contacted in case of an emergency.

Available in 11 different languages, the service is available for free to all Tata Indicom pre-paid as well as post-paid subscribers.

The company is eyeing an increased contribution of value added services (VAS) to its income from current 10% to 15%.

When an emergency arises, the caller has to dial *44 and the system instantly call and send an SMS to the three numbers, suggesting them that the user needs helpp.

In case if any of the registered numbers are unreachable or turned off, the system would call at least four times to ensure that the number is reached.
