Tata Is All Set To Leave Singur
TATA Motors is all set to leave Singur as per the confidential reports. Some vendors have started to shift the equipment from the plant site to other undisclosed location.
Though there is no official statement in this regard, the shifting of equipments, makes clear the intentions of TATA. Nano is still expected to launched within its October deadline from Tata Motors' plants in Pantnagar (Uttarakhand) and Pune.
The officials in the state government quarters hold Mamta Benerjee responsible for this roll back. Trinamool Congress leader, Ms Banerjee is still not ready to change her stance on the land return issue. She is still demanding the return of 300 acres of land from the plant premises.
Ms Mamata Banerjee met with West Bengal governor, Mr Gopalkrishna Gandhi and requested him to implement the agreement of September 7. She rejected the additional package offered by the state government to the affected farmers. She also urged the center government to use article 355 in west Bengal.
Meanwhile many other Indian states have offered concessions to TATA for the plant setup.
