Surana Corporation’s net up by 71%

Surana Corporation’s net up by 71%India's leading gold jewellery maker, Surana Corporation has announced its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and has managed to post a remarkable net profit. The firm has posted a net profit after tax
(PBT) of Rs 11.84 crore for the quarter that ended on 31st March, 2010.

It was reported as Rs 5.72 crore in the corresponding period last year. This net profit after tax has gone up by 71.67% against the same quarter in the preceding year.

As far as the total income of the company is concerned, it has touched Rs 1,274.99 crore for the quarter under review.

It has increased from Rs 501.95 crore for the same quarter last year. This has been informed by the company in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The annual net profit of the company has been found to be Rs 40.46 crore for the financial year while it was Rs 22.50 crore in the previous fiscal. The share price has gone up after this announcement. It closed at Rs 67.50. It went up by 2.58% from its previous close.
