"Steve Jobs"- the Film Fails to Nail It
Failing to click to millions of Steve Jobs’ fans and followers, the film based on his life history failed to nail it on the box office and was counted among one of biggest flops of the weekend.
The film was placed among five ‘most disappointing’ films. The ones other than Steve Jobs included The Last Witch Hunter, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms.
Only ‘Witch Hunter’ managed to touch the $10 million mark. ‘Kasbah’ and ‘Jem’ were rated as the most disappointing opening on the weekend by the critics and viewers.
In an unexpected turn of events, the two holdover films, ‘The Martian’ and ‘Goosebumps’, made it to the top two ranks in the rating list.
‘The Martian’ earned revenue of $15.9 million in the U.S. and Canada markets. The total income hence generated was about $166 million.
‘Goosebumps’ made an impressive move in the second week after release, recording sales of $15.5 million. Incomes from ‘Bridge of Spies’ went down 26% from the expectations. The net value from the film turns out to be $32.9 million after two weeks.
Viacom's Paramount Pictures' ‘Paranormal Activity’, that attracted immense appreciation during its previous versions could not match viewer’s expectations and earned only $8.2 million.
Viewers had high hopes from the film ‘Paranormal’, this time. However, it left most of them disappointed and irked.
