Johannesburg, Oct 9 : Sony Mobile has reportedly said that it is important for the company to win in the mobile market and would target the same with a mix of premium yet affordable handsets.

Sony Mobile product marketing manager, Mansoor Ahmed has said that the company wants to be one of the top manufacturers in the world in the coming few years.

Ahmed pointed out that, this aim cannot be achieved on affordable handsets and neither on its own on premium handsets and there has to be a blend and mix of both.

According to News24, Sony has been driving its Xperia range since the withdrawal of Ericsson, but since the market is dominated by rivals Samsung and Apple, smaller manufacturers are facing the challenge.

Ahmed said that manufacturers like Sony, Samsung, Apple who make premium devices for the masses, which are perhaps not very affordable, but still some people can get them with subsidization, is a mix of everyone.

He further stressed that in order for a manufacturer to be successful; it has to appeal to a wide demographic . (ANI)
