The Future of Nano was in shambles till a few days back and now when it has found its home, a Gujarati Company, Ajanta Manufacturing Ltd is all set to sweep the market with its new E-car called Oreva E. The small electric car will be priced at approximately Rs 1 lakh and is sure to give competition to Nano. The company is known for making electric bikes and is now venturing into manufacturing cars.

Although the plans for the car are still under cover and the company officials are not ready to comment. However, Yogesh Tank, of Oreva Automobiles, Rajkot is very enthusiastic and states "This is the first model out on display .I can't share any more details about it as we have been asked to be tight lipped for sometime. It is just a fabulous car and very economic in these days of rocketing fuel prices”. The cars launch has been delayed till around the same time as Nano.

Tank further stated that so far there was only the trial model and a lot of changes will take place. Also the final model is likely to have an AC available. The popularity of OrevaE has already taken a top gear. To Quote Vijay Nathwani, corporate executive, Rajkot "I just tried my hand on this car. It gives great feel and it is adequate for a family like mine. Two kids and two adults can easily be accommodated........People like us now can really afford to buy a car and whether Nano comes or not, whenever, this car is ready. I am just waiting to buy it the day it start sales”. This new e-car sure is tempting but will it be able to compete with the experience of Tata's in the automobile industry?
