Skin Cancer Survivor Urges Not to Neglect Skin Cancer Symptoms

melanomaA man who was diagnosed with skin cancer at an early stage is recommending people that age is not the consideration and get the melanoma symptoms checked before they take a bad shape.

Melanoma affected Jesse Lust when he was just 26 and he asserted that he knew many who got affected with the deadly disease at the similar age.

Lust told Breakfast that his melanoma started with a sun burn. When his doctor told him that he had melanoma, he got astonished.

It has become common to find melanoma in people who are in their mid-20s, as stated by Wayde Beckman from SunSmart.

He said, "We still want more people to actually take that awareness and turn it into behaviour. There are a lot of people still getting burnt in New Zealand every summer".

The highest cases of melanoma across the globe are found in New Zealand, with more than 300 Kiwis dying due to skin cancer and among them 90% are found to be affected with melanoma.

Beckman is advising everyone to get the examination of their skin, as a part of the Sunsmart week that have commenced today.

Lust urged parents to aware their children of the skin cancer and make them wear hats and sunscreen in order to prevent the disease.
