Skating rally in Bhopal to save environment
Bhopal, June 12 : About 15 children staged a skating rally here to spread awareness about conserving environment, particularly water.
The children varying from 12 to 15 years of age distributed pamphlets carrying messages on environment conservation.
The rally, which began from Iqbal ground of the historical city aims at educating people on the way before concluding in Sihor city.
"We will tell the people on the way about ways of keeping their water clean and safe. We are taking a message of save environment," said Hamza Siddiqui, a child.
Children had prepared hard for the rally and believe that their hard work would definitely bear fruit.
"We have practiced for this a lot as we have skated from two to times kilometers," said Sahil Mirza, another child.
Mayor of the city, who flagged off the rally, said that such attempt by the young ones would benefit the coming generations.
"If our new generations are aware of water conservation, then it will naturally benefit the coming generations," said Sunil Sood, Mayor of Bhopal.
Most water bodies in Bhopal are presently under threat of pollution due to human encroachments and gradually getting filled up. Experts have warned about the urgency to save them from further deterioration. (ANI)
