Shares gain 3.3 per cent in Seoul
Seoul - Shares surged 3.3 per cent Thursday on the Seoul stock exchange after recent heavy losses, tracking gains in the US market. South Korea's won inched up against the dollar.
The benchmark Kospi index soared 30.70 points to close at 1,063.48.
Advancing issues outpaced decliners 646 to 193.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market rose 8.85 points to 304.36.
On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,476.0 Korean won, after 1,478.10 won Wednesday. (dpa)
