It is not just the movies anymore. Scrabble Entertainment has said that it would now make IPL content go 3D.
The firm is into the business of converting 2D into 3D. It has already managed to get the broadcasting rights of the last four IPL matches in 3D. The company did so from Crown Infotainment.
Crown holds the rights to broadcast IPL matches in India for the next 10 years.
Scrabble had to pay Rs.2.5 crore for grabbing these rights and is looking forward to broadcast these matches live in 3D theaters across the country. The number of these destinations would be 120.
The company expects to raise Rs.10 crore by telecasting these matches. Out of this, it will give shares to UFO Moviez. It would be getting 80 per cent of the total money above the Rs.2.5 crore. UFO Moviez is the sister company and digital distribution company of Crown Infotainment.
Scrabble will be getting the other 20 per cent. The company is hopeful that the 3D theaters will be able to draw at least 60 per cent occupancy level.
The company is planning to price the tickets at Rs.1,000.
