Scotland Yard submits confidential report on Bhutto’s assassination to Musharraf

Lahore, Jan 10: former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and  President Pervez MusharrafScotland Yard’s investigating team has delivered their confidential report on the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday.

Earlier, two more sleuths joined the five-member team of Scotland Yard at Islamabad.

Reportedly, the Scotland Yard team has established a camp office at a police guesthouse at Police lines Rawalpindi.

A team of government officials attached with Rawalpindi Police had visited the forensic laboratory at Lahore. The lab is examining some of the crucial evidence, including a missed bullet and a .30-bore pistol recovered from the site of the killing. The examination is held to discover whether the recovered bullet matches the pistol, the Daily Times reported.

Meanwhile, the Scotland Yard team has requested the Government to allow them to perform a post-mortem on Benazir Bhutto to know the real cause of the death.

The team had also expressed dissatisfaction on the cooperation of the Punjab police. (ANI)
