Satyam Q1 net up 45 pc at Rs 547.7 cr
The Quarter 1 profit of Satyam Computer Services was announced on Friday. The Software major has recorded a net profit of 45 per cent at Rs.547.7 cror for Q1 ended on June 30.
Satyam Computer Services had recorded a net profit of Rs378.32 crore in the first quarter of FY'08 as per record of Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income of company was Rs1893.39 crore in the same quarter last year. It is now increased to Rs2653.95 crore for Q1 of current financial year. The firm had a net profit of Rs389.14 crore in the June quarter of FY'08 and it is now recorded of Rs575.91 crore which is 48 per cent more than net profit of last year.
Satyam Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said in a news conference that the company had won three large deals of $40 million to $50 million during the quarter that contributed in 45 percent growth. Satayam is trying 20 big deals worth $40 to $100 million for current quarter. The company has total of 631 clients including 34 new clients added during the quarter.
The company has 51,643 employees including its subsidiaries. Out of total 51643 employees 651 employees were added in Q1. It has also increased the salaries of its offshore employees by 12-14 per cent and the onsite wages by 3 to 4 per cent. Satayam is expecting revenue between Rs27.43 billion and Rs27.69 billion for Q2.
