Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 2 on 1 OctoberSouth Korean electronics giant, Samsung has announced that it will launch its new Galaxy Note 2 in the UK market on 1 October.

"The introduction of the original Galaxy Note was a great success - we succeeded in creating an entirely new category. With the Galaxy Note 2, we're not only expanding the category, we're also evolving the technology to the point where it genuinely feels as though you're using a traditional pen and paper," said Samsung UK executive Simon Stanford.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5-inch screen and has 1.6GHz quad-core processor. The model is lighter and thinner than the original version, which looked at filling the gap between smartphones and tablets and sold more than 10 million units across the world.

The new model the latest version of Google's Android operating system Jelly Bean and it comes with an upgraded version of the Galaxy Note's unique stylus, S-Pen. J. K. Shin, head of the mobile business at the company said in Soul, the company's home base, that the new model might sell three times faster than the earlier Note because more carriers are set to offer the product in the UK.
