‘Rush to bring out new products gave way to security concerns’
A group representing information systems professionals called ISACA has observed that the rush among manufacturers to produce and offer new technological products quickly has resulted in these firms not paying enough attention to security concerns in mobile platforms.
"The drive to push new tech products out the door has always trumped security, and now that mind-set has moved to the mobile platforms," says John Pironti, who works as an adviser to ISACA.
Google has to remove 25 infected apps from its Android Market but only after 125,000 Android users had already downloaded these apps. Google allow developers to post apps and relies on customer feedback to know about security concerns.
Pironti, who is also president of IP Architects also said that if Google has allowed these bad apps into the Android store then it should take the responsibility for integrity and security of the code.
Some security experts also suggest that Google simply the process of pulling out apps fro the Android market place.
