Washington, Sept. 26 : Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh met US President George W Bush at the White House on Thursday evening for a working dinner, even as the US House of Representatives took a decision to postpone the voting on the US-India civil nuclear deal to Friday.
Bush is reported to have told Singh that his administration is working hard to get the deal passed as quickly as possible and hoped that India would be satisfied by the final outcome.
Washington, Sept. 26 : House of Representatives Democrat Howard Berman, a known critic of the US-India civil nuclear deal, has told his fellow representatives that while he believes that integrating India into the global non-proliferation regime will be a positive step, he has concerns about "ambiguities" in the nuclear cooperation agreement that has been negotiated between the two countries.
Washington - Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro were invited Thursday to join a group of countries seeking membership in the NATO alliance, the US State Department said Thursday.
The Adriatic Charter, which consists of Albania, Croatia and Macedonia, extended invitations to the two Balkan states during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.
"This decision was made in the firm belief that this expansion of the charter will further strengthen mutual cooperation and advance Euro-Atlantic integration," McCormack said.

New York - Pakistan's new President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday used the UN General Assembly podium to denounce the United States for conducting unauthorized military strikes against terrorist targets inside Pakistani territory.
"Unilateral actions of great powers should not inflame the passion of allies," Zardari said in his first appearance before a body that has been used often by some world leaders to attack US foreign policies.
