Washington, Oct. 6 : Senator Barack Obama has decided to preempt plans by Senator John McCain to portray him as having sinister connections to controversial Chicagoans.

Obama officials call it political jujitsu - turning the attacks back on the attacker.

McCain officials had said early in the weekend that they plan to begin advertising after Tuesday’s debate that will tie Obama to convicted money launderer Tony Rezko and former Weathermen radical William Ayers.

But Obama isn''t waiting to respond. His campaign is going up Monday on national cable stations with a scathing ad saying:

Barack ObamaWashington, Oct. 6 : Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is poised to benefit from a wave of newcomers to the rolls in key states in numbers that far outweigh any gains made by Republicans.

In the past year, the rolls have expanded by about four million voters in a dozen key states. George W. Bush carried the eleven states that Obama is targeting -- Ohio, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada and New Mexico -- in 2004.

Interactive software to allow reporters to visually analyze opinion data after elections

Washington, Oct 6 : Computer scientists at the University of Utah in the US have written software they hope eventually will allow news reporters and citizens to easily, interactively and visually answer questions when analyzing election results, political opinion polls or other surveys.

The software displays data in the form of "radial" charts that are doughnut-shaped and include features of traditional pie charts and bar graphs.

The charts are interactive and animated so they change as a computer user asks to analyze poll results as a function of various demographic data.

Palin said it is legitimate to raise Obama''s association with William Ayers, a co-founder of the Weather Underground, a Vietnam-era domestic terror group.
