New book reveals words and phrases and the origins of their meanings

London, Nov 25 : A new book written by Alex Games has phrases and words that are being used now in the modern age in a different context all together from when they had been originally formed.

Some of the words had originated from countries other than ones that they are used in, and some have been changed to suit the dialect of the region, reports the Sun.

Starting off the list of words was ‘Balti’, which in modern day is a type of curry popular in Birmingham, and named after the pot in which it is cooked. Its origin is from the Portuguese word ‘balde’, meaning bucket or pail.

Next was ‘Bonking’, a word, which was first used around 1975, to describe sex. Before that it had been used to describe a hit to the head.

Batman is bound to die next year, claims creator

BatmanLondon, Nov 25 : Batman fans may witness a gruesome death of the Caped Crusader in the upcoming comic book, the creator has revealed.

The character, which first appeared in Detective Comics in May 1939, might be killed off after 70 years in the new book titled ‘Batman RIP''.

''Batman RIP'' will see "the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman", according to author Grant Morrison.

Rumours are abuzz that Batman will suffer a gruesome end when his sidekick Robin goes over to "the dark side" and destroys him in a terrible betrayal.

In the blogs, Symonds revealed how she was under some silky tiger print sheets in bed, “enjoying a Gordon’s gin and tonic”, and that she finds dating single men harder than married men.

Bee Gee Robin Gibb would rather skip flight than have baggage checked

Robin GibbLondon, Nov 25 : Bee Gee star Robin Gibb missed a flight to America after refusing to allow airport security staff to search his bag.

The singer was randomly selected for an extra hand luggage search as he waited in London''s Gatwick Airport''s departure lounge for a flight to Las Vegas.

Despite being told by staff he would be unable to board the plane without being searched, Robin refused to hand over his bag.

The 58-year-old singer, who was travelling alone, eventually agreed to be escorted back through security check points - but missed his 4,000 pounds flight.
