Dubai  - The fifth edition of the Dubai International Film Festival began late Thursday with the screening of US filmmaker Oliver Stone's biopic W.

"I hope many people in the Middle East and in South East Asia see it and understand how George Bush came to be and who he is, and understand that the US is not an enemy," Stone said at a press conference in Dubai ahead of the ceremony.

TEHRAN, Dec. 5  -- Claims made by the United Arab Emirates that were anti-Iranian in nature were ill-advised, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Friday.

The Iranian official slammed the Arab federation for supporting the policies of the United States and Britain regarding Iran, the Islamic Republic News Agency said.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 5  -- Five investigators with the United Arab Emirates Interior Ministry were arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes, police said.,

Col. Maktoum al-Sharifi of the Abu Dhabi Police said the five men, whose ages ranged from 19 to 24, all worked as Emirati inspectors for the interior ministry, al-Arabiya reported Friday.

The Criminal and Investigative Directorate investigators are suspected of accepting bribes from individuals in charge of illegal bars and brothels.

The investigators' alleged actions came to light after a number of complaints were made about attempted extortion of Abu Dhabi brothels and alcohol venders, al-Arabiya said.

London, Dec 5 : Emirates Airbus A380 pilots are finding it difficult to sleep during rest breaks in the crew rest area – because the aircraft is “too quiet”.

The pilots are complaining that they cannot sleep in the crew-rest area in the rear of the main deck for they are constantly disturbed by sounds created by passengers.

The lack of engine noise in the A380''s cabin compared with other long-haul airliners means they are constantly disturbed by sounds created by passengers, such as crying babies, flushing vacuum toilets and call bells.

Geneva - The United Arab Emirates came under close scrutiny Thursday, particularly on the treatment of migrant workers, during its periodic review before the United Nations' Human Rights Council.
