Los Angeles, Nov 10 : Besides the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, US President-elect Barack Obama will have to face another war - against stateless networks of Islamic extremists, particularly in the wake of trained terrorists retrning to Britain and other western countries, said an unidentified Italian anti-terrorism official.
Baghdad - Three people were killed and seven injured when a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a hospital west of Iraq's capital Baghdad on Sunday.
A doctor and his wife were among the injured in the attack that took place in Amiriyat al-Fallujah near the city of Fallujah, 50 kilometres west of Baghdad, the Iraqi al-Buratha news agency reported.
Earlier, US military said that extremists have killed four civilians, a policeman and a US soldier.
Damascus - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday spoke out against the signing of the US-Iraqi security pact, saying the presence of US troops in Iraq posed a threat to stability in the region.
"The presence of occupation forces constitutes a permanent threat to Iraq's neighbours," al-Assad told Arab parliamentarians.
The security deal being negotiated between Baghdad and Washington outlines the future of US troops in Iraq after a United Nations mandate expires at the end of this year.
Under the deal, al-Bashar said, Iraq would become "a base for attacks on its neighbours."
Iran has also indicated its opposition to the deal, calling it an "assault on the sovereignty of Iraq."

In a twin blast in al-Ramadi city, eight people were killed and 22 injured.
The attacks took place as two suicide bombers blew themselves up near a police station in the capital of al-Anbar province, about 110 kilometres west of Baghdad, the Iraqi al-Buratha news agency reported.
Earlier, one person was killed and seven injured in a bomb blast in northern Baghdad, police said.
