Chilean President arrives in IndiaNew Delhi, Mar 16 : The President of Chile, Dr. Michelle Bachelet, arrived here on a five-day official visit on Monday morning.

Bachelet is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister of Agriculture and Women Empowerment and a business delegation.

During the visit, the President of Chile will call President Pratibha Patil, who will host a State Banquet in her honour on Tuesday at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Charlie Chaplin New Delhi - A filmmaker based in India's southern Karnataka state is looking for an alternative location for his latest film after Hindu activists allegedly opposed his erecting a statue of comedian Charlie Chaplin as part of props on a local beach, news reports said Sunday.

Hindu right-wing leaders objected to Hemanth Hegde's plan to erect the 18-metre-high statue of Chaplin on Maravanthe beach, about 400 kilometres west of Karnataka capital Bangalore, because the actor was a Christian, the Times of India newspaper reported.

Lashkar aide arrested with hawala money in Rajouri

Jammu, Mar 15 : A financial coordinator of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was arrested and Rs 50,000 in hawala money recovered from his possession in Jammu and Kashmir''s Rajouri District, police sources said here.

''''Based on specific information about the movement of LeT aide Nazir Ahmed, resident of Bathoi, Tehsil Mahore, district Reasi along with hawala money, a team of SOG conducted a raid and arrested him from village Pangai in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district last night,'''' said Dy. S. P. operation Rajouri Farooq Qaiser.

He said hawala money Rs 50,000 was also recovered from his possession, which he collected from Thannamandi area and had to deliver it to Lashkar militants in Reasi district.
