 Rahul Gandhi underlines need of progress of Dalits and tribalsRaigarh (Chhattisgarh), Apr 7 : Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday called for an all round development of the country and slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for maintaining a limited vision on the issue.

Addressing a public meeting in Raigarh, Rahul Gandhi said that the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government believes that the country can only progress when the socially backward communities would progress.

However, he said, the BJP has a different policy.

Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan told reporters here that the Election Commission had received several complaints on Singh from various political parties, and therefore, it was instructing the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Government in the state to send the names of three bureaucrats for his replacement.

  Naxals kill one policeman; injure five in Chhattisgarh  Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr. 7 : Naxals have killed a policeman and injured five others in a land mine blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.

Reports said they attacked the convoy of Superintendent of Police Ankit Garg as it was passing through the Bijapur Valley, about five kilometres from the district headquarters.

Nand Kishore Sori, a policeman who was part of Garg's security detail, died on the spot while five others were injured seriously. Vehicles in the convoy were also damaged.

Ex-Satyam owner Raju charge sheeted by CBIHyderabad, Apr. 7 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju and eight others.

The 76-page charge sheet was filed before the special court here under various sections of Indian Penal Code for cheating and forgery.

The company's former managing director, Rama Raju, former chief financial officer, Vadlamani Srinivas, and the two sacked auditors of PriceWaterhouse, S Gopalkrishnan and Talluri Srinivas were also named in the charge sheet.
