Madrid - Prosecutors at Spain's National Court on Friday requested the arrest of five suspected members of the militant Basque separatist group ETA on suspicion of exchanging information on military tactics with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
The whereabouts of the five were unknown. Press reports said they had fled to Cuba and Venezuela.
Documents seized from ETA and FARC provided evidence of the contacts and collaboration, the prosecutors said.
Bogota - Colombian President Alvaro Uribe on Wednesday congratulated US president-elect Barack Obama on his election victory, and said he was sure that the two countries would continue to cooperate.
Uribe, widely regarded as US President George W Bush's main ally in Latin America, said his government's main interest in further cooperation lay in the fights against drug trafficking and terrorism.
Bogota - Five suitcases belonging to the staff of Australian pop singer and songwriter Kylie Minogue were stolen ahead of a concert in Colombian capital Bogota Saturday, media reports said.
The concert is part of her X 2008 tour and is her first in Latin America.
The suitcases contained computer parts, equipment, costumes and passports of some of the singer's staff. They were stolen from the concert venue late Friday, where people were busy setting up the stage.
Bogota - After eight years in captivity, the former Colombian parliamentarian Oscar Tulio Lizcano managed to flee his captors, the left-wing FARC rebels, with the help of his guard, the country's top defence official said Sunday.
Defence Minister Juan Manuel Santos said Lizcano and a FARC member with the alias of Isaza fled three days ago in the jungles of western Colombia and encountered a military unit, which brought them to safety.
