Former Vice President Al Gore is being floated as a possible ''climate czar''. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nancy Floyd, founder and managing director of Nth Power, a green-tech venture capital firm, Dan Reicher, Google''s director of climate change and energy initiatives, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and Kansas Governor. Kathleen Sebelius are some of the other names being touted around for the job.

Obamas dine at favourite Italian restaurant after prez poll victory

Chicago, Nov. 10 : US President –elect Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle had their first "date" since his victory on Saturday at their favorite eatery, Spiaggia located on Chicago''s Magnificent Mile.

The beaming Obamas enjoyed dinner in the pricey, four-star restaurant''s main room, surrounded by gaping customers - and a large Secret Service contingent.

The New York Post quoted Spiaggia dining-room manager Ian Louisignau, as saying "We don''t give out that information", when asked what the future First Couple ate.

But he did say the Obamas, who opted not to be seated in one of the restaurant''s private dining rooms, had "a good time" celebrating the Illinois senator''s victory.

US First Lady invites Michelle Obama to get feel of her new abodeChicago, Nov 7: US First Lady Laura Bush has invited Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia to the White House in the coming weeks to get a feel for their new abode.

Michelle accepted, and a trip will be scheduled soon, the Washington Post reported.

In a telephone conversation on November 5, Laura congratulated Michelle and the two discussed life as a President’s wife, the Obama campaign said. Michelle thanked the First Lady for her offer of help through the transition.

Obama says his victory signals change in America

"It''s been a long time coming. But tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change is coming to America," he said in front of a crowd of 65,000 people.

Obama called on Americans to back a spirit of unity to attack the country''s pressing challenges.
