Bangalore, May 14 : In a way all eyes are on Harappanahalli where mining lord and BJP MP from Bellary Karunakara Reddy is contesting against the soft-spoken Lingayat leader and Karnataka's former deputy chief minister M P Prakash of the Congress.

For Prakash, this is a new constituency as he has just joined the Congress from the Janata Dal (Secular).

Delimitation has changed the political calculations of big leaders.

This constituency located on the backwaters of Tunga-Bhadra is anticipating a political decisive battle.

"Harappanahalli is crucial for the Congress, whereas for the BJP, It is a prestige issue to win in the Congress bastion, which is also a reserved constituency," said Reddy.

Bangalore, May 13 : The Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswami and Election Commissioners, S. Y. Quereshi and Navin Chawla met in Dharwad this morning to review preparations for the third phase of polls in Karnataka.

The team met with representatives of different political parties where Deputy Election Commissioner R. Bhattacharya and State Chief Election Officer M. N. Vidyashankar were also present.
