Reasons for decline in sperm count
It is believed that humans are considered to be relatively low producer of sperm when compared to other mammals. This, in addition to the fact that one in five healthy young men in the ages of 18 and 25 produce abnormal sperm count and of the amount produced is often of poor quality.
The reasons for the same have been considered many. A few of them pertain to reproductive problems resulting from congenital defects to cancer and impotency. The studies have shown that one out of seven couples now classed as infertile runs low on the "male factor".
The health experts believe it to be act which originates from the womb and has nothing to do with men's' lifestyle, on the contrary their mothers could be held responsible for the same.
Throwing light on this matter, that originates at sperm production, called spermatogenesis, starts at an adolescent age, but the base is laid in the few months after birth. And the lifestyle changes that have occurred while the transition over decades could be the reason for the inadequate sperm production.
Many studies have come up that link the embryo phase in the womb and male reproductive problems in later life, especially low sperm counts.
