R-Com launches GSM services in New DelhiReliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) owned Reliance Communications (R-Com) has launched Global System for Mobile (GSM) in New Delhi on Sunday, after starting services in several parts of the country.

R-Com regional head - Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan circles, C. S. Rana said, "We got the licence for GSM services last year and within 11 months the company has launched the services in almost the entire country." He said that its low-tariff and affordable services besides good coverage, that are attracting people toward Reliance.

The company has set up around 950 new towers besides sharing infrastructure with existing towers and CDMA links to deliver GSM services in the national capital region. Mr. Rana said, "We have a total of around 1,800 towers in Delhi for the GSM services launched today and will take the number upward with increased necessity."

Customers can enjoy new GSM service with the initial subscription at Rs 49. The company is providing new connection and 450-minute free calling time with Rs 115 package besides unlimited free Reliance-to-Reliance local calls throughout the night. It has currently started pre-paid services while post paid services are likely to start in days to come.
