Putin’s likely successor is a Led Zep fan

London, December 12: The man tipped to become Russia’s next President after Vladimir Putin is a heavy metal fan.

Loyal aide Dmitry Medvedev, who is likely to take over after Putin steps down next year, says that Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are his favourite bands.

He has revealed that he went to see Deep Purple’s concert in St Petersburg this year.

He claims that he has spent years collecting original LPs by the band.

“They are not reissues, but original albums. If you set yourself a goal you can achieve it, ” the Sun quoted him as saying.

If Medvedev is elected president next March, he will become Russia’s youngest ruler since Tsar Nicholas II.

In the wake of the Kremlin’s support and the backing of the state-controlled media, it is believed that Medvedev has very good chances of being elected president.

According to reports, critics believe that Medvedev will continue Putin’s hard-line policies. (ANI)
