Protesters invade Frankfurt Stock Exchange

Frankfurt  - Protesters invaded the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday, chanting, waving banners and scattering leaflets.

Red banners hung over a balcony indicated the group was aligned to Attac, a leftist, European anti-globalization movement that has spearheaded protests in the past against the policies of the G7 (Group of Seven) nations.

They evaded security barriers and entered a gallery above the exchange's trading floor.

Live television news coverage showed about a dozen people as they then scattered leaflets over the balustrade onto the traders below and shouted slogans at them. (dpa)
