New Delhi, Oct 5 : The third meeting of the UPA-Left Committee on Indo-US civil nuclear deal will take place today to address the Left concern on the deal.

Karnataka crisis: BJP ministers resign en masse

Bangalore, Oct 2: All the BJP ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, today handed over their resignation from the JD (S)-led coalition Government in the State to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

The BJP's decision to resign en masse from the Kumaraswamy Cabinet comes after the talks between the BJP and the JD (S) failed on the power transfer issue.

According to the pact reached between the two parties twenty months ago, the JD (S) is supposed to transfer the office of Chief Minister to the BJP on October 3.

85 APDM parliamentarians submit their resignations to Pak Assembly Speaker

Islamabad, Oct 2 : Pakistan’s National Assembly members of the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) have submitted their resignations to Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former cricketer Imran Khan was the first parliamentarian who tendered his resignation, following which other APDM leaders followed suit.

PPP quietly restoring relations with opposition

Lahore, Oct 2 : The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has quietly started restoring its relations with the opposition parties, because hopes of the government and the PPP coming closer are quite dim with the Musharraf regime sitting on the demands of the party.

The PPP will finalise its strategy on October 3 in a meeting being convened in London, giving maximum time to the Musharraf regime to accept its demands before the presidential polls.

APDM collects resignation of 236 lawmakers

Islamabad, Sep 30 : The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) has collected as many as 84 resignations from the National Assembly members and 152 from the members of provincial assemblies till now.

The APDM would furnish these resignations to the Speakers of the national and provincial assemblies respectively on October 2, as decided by the alliance.

Convenor of the alliance’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) Raja Zafarul Haq announced it in a press conference here.
