Police say man chased down stolen pickup

TULSA, Okla., Dec. 4  -- Police in Tulsa, Okla., say a man who saw his pickup truck being stolen ran after it, jumped aboard, kicked out the rear window and chased off the thief.

Investigators said Alonzo Johnson had left his truck running outside of a QuikTrip convenience store Monday night when he saw a woman get into the pickup and start driving away, the Tulsa World reported Wednesday.

Johnson ran out of the store, jumped into the bed of the moving truck and kicked out the rear window of the cab, police said.

The police report said the woman exited the truck while Johnson was climbing into the cab and sped off in a car with her boyfriend. Johnson chased the couple in his truck until police caught up with them and arrested Trenity Sue Baker, 18.

Baker, who also allegedly hit a car in the QuikTrip parking lot with Johnson's truck, was taken to the Tulsa jail on charges of auto theft and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. (UPI)
