Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency to remove judges: Imran Khan
Islamabad, Nov 11 : Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief and former cricketer Imran Khan has said that the objective of Musharraf behind the imposition of emergency was to remove judges as they were not going to allow him to be elected as President in uniform.
Imran said the government was also going to rig the coming polls and they wanted their judges for support and to ratify what wrong they do, impose sanctions against media and rig the poll.
To a question, he said that they would not allow them to rest, and political workers and general people would be mobilised against the imposition of emergency in the country.
About the joint opposition, Imran said Benazir Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman were playing the game of establishment as the government has kept all the opposition leaders behind the bars except Fazlur and Bhutto.
He said that Musharraf is in power due to opposition, adding that Fazlur was not willing to leave the government in the NWFP and Balochistan while Benazir was talking to the Musharraf regime for the withdrawal of corruption cases against her, The Nation reported.
Imran said some political parties, including ANP, Pukhtoonkhwa Mili Awami Party, PONM and Tehrik-e-Insaf are clear in their stance, adding that all these parties would devise future strategy against the Musharraf regime. (ANI)
