London, Mar 25 : Music mogul Simon Cowell had turned down US President Barack Obama's dinner invite - because he "wasn't available".

In an interview to US chat show host Jay Leno, the X-Factor judge revealed that he rejected a dinner invite Obama because he was too busy.

"He wanted to have dinner and our diaries didn't quite match," the Sun quoted him as saying.

"We just didn't quite connect," he added.

London, Mar 23 : Media mogul Simon Cowell, who is known for his extravagant lifestyle, has recently got a personal tanning salon built in his 21.7 million dollar mansion.

Cowell, who is worth 188 million dollars, paid a whopping 11.9 million dollars for his L. A. mansion two years ago.

Since then, Cowell has been busy renovating the two-storey mansion, and the most recent change in the mansion happens to be the installation of a solarium adjacent to the master bedroom with a full-length tanning machine and a smaller facial tanner.

The tough judge has even told the `Thriller' hitmaker that he'd be foolish not to perform on the hit programme.

Jackson has announced a 50-date residency at London''s 02 Arena, which begins in July.

And music mogul Cowell has urged the King of Pop to thrill the nation with a showcase on Idol first.

London, Feb 25 : It seems even ‘The X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell cannot escape the economic downturn, with a property venture of his in Barbados believed to be on the verge of closing down.

Cowell had put 15 million pounds on a villa on the island’s proposed 280 million pounds Clearwater Bay development, which will also feature a five-star hotel.

But as of last week, construction has been halted on the project, with a “strategic review” being done on it.

Cowell said that he wants to have his body frozen so that one day technology could bring him back to life, reports the China Daily.

The cryogenics comment was trumpeted in a number of news reports as a serious plan by Cowell, a music industry executive and TV producer.
