Arun Jaitley meets Rajnath Singh

Arun JaitleyNew Delhi, Mar 19 : After skipping two key party meetings to express his displeasure over the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal as party co-convenor for the North East, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Thursday met party President Rajnath Singh.

According to reports, Jaitley went to the Singh's residence here and stayed there for about an hour.

The BJP General Secretary is the party's in-charge for Bihar and Delhi and the name of candidates for these two states could not be finalised as he had skipped the Central Election Committee meeting twice.

Rajnath Singh regrets BJP-BJD alliance breakdown

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Rajnath SinghNew Delhi, Mar 8 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Rajnath Singh on Sunday, expressed his regret over Biju Janata Dal (BJP) supremo Naveen Patnaik''s decision to discontinue the 11-year-old alliance between both parties.

In an interview to Times Now, Singh said, "I feel it is unfortunate. We could not ever imagine that the BJP-BJD alliance will break down."

"I am shocked at the decision... Naveen Patnaik never indicated his dissatisfaction with the alliance," he added.

RLD –BJP alliance will counter SP-BSP politics in UP: Rajnath SinghNew Delhi, Mar. 2 : With the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal arriving at a seat sharing arrangement in Western Uttar Pradesh, BJP President Rajnath Singh believes the alliance will act as a counterweight to the politics of the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.

Neither the BJP nor the RLD have disclosed the seat sharing formula. They claim it is being worked out and will only be announced after taking stock of social combinations and opponents.

BJP demands parliament probe in Satyam fraud case

Rajnath SinghNew Delhi, Feb 21 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday demanded a parliament probe in the Satyam Computers Services fraud case.

The BJP president Rajnath Singh claimed that the Congress is afraid to allow the parliament probe.

"The countrymen want to know who all have been involved in the scam. I know the present government would not allow the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the issue as I know many big personalities of the Congress party do not want to get entangled in the investigation process," Rajnath Singh told party functionaries here.

Rajnath Singh vows to build temple at Ayodhya

Rajnath''s inaugural speech at the two-day BJP National Council meet left thousands of party men shouting the chants of ''Jai Shri Ram''.

He critisised the failure of Congress to resolve the Ram Janmabhoomi issue.

Rajnath assured that if the BJP comes to power, it would try to set up a fast-track court to resolve the issue and take other effective measures after keeping allies into confidence.

Rajnath Singh to Shekhawat: Avoid active politics

Rajnath SinghNew Delhi, Jan. 7 : Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said the party doesn''t have a tradition to allow a person to contest elections after holding a constitutional post.

"Someone who has served on a constitutional post do not enter electoral fray. It is not in our tradition," Rajnath Singh said ,indirectly hinting that former Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat should avoid another innings in active politics.

On Monday, octogenarian Shekhawat told journalists in Kota that he was willing to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections if his health permitted.
