Hamilton grabs Canadian pole ahead of KubicaLondon, Dec. 11 : Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton took to the wheel in a London black cab to back an anti-drink-drive campaign on Wednesday.

According to The Mirror, Hamilton teamed up with double world champion Mika Hakkinen for the trip as part of the Johnnie Walker responsible drinking programme.

The pair hailed the public transport drivers who get people home safely as "the real champions" behind the wheel.

Lewis HamiltonLondon, Nov. 20 : British teenager Adam Christodoulou, who won this year’s Formula Renault UK championship, says that he has set his sights on emulating Formula One champions Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton.

Adam Christodoulou, 19, says that he hopes to emulate Raikkonen and Hamilton by making it all the way to the F1 grid.

The Sun quoted Christodoulou, who has Greek Cypriot ancestry, as saying: "It’s a pleasure to follow Lewis and Kimi in winning the Formula Renault title – and it means a lot to achieve something they achieved. I’m sure it will inspire me to reach my ultimate goal of Formula 1."

Bernie Ecclestone’s Olympic system could see Lewis in new medals race

London, Nov. 19 : If Grand Prix chief Bernie Ecclestone has his way, Formula One champion racer Lewis Hamilton could be racing for gold medals next season.

According to The Sun, Ecclestone is planning to spice up Formula One radically, and reckons an Olympic style medal system for the top three finishers will pep up the event from a speactator point of view.

Ecclestone said: “I’m 100 per cent certain it’s the right way to go. It’ll get the drivers overtaking. Everybody is happy with the idea. The teams are all very supportive.”

Hamilton, 23, became the youngest champ by just one point after finishing fifth in a thrilling finale in Brazil earlier this month.

Lewis HamiltonLondon, Nov. 12: Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo smashed a television set after seeing McLaren's Lewis Hamilton snatch the Formula One world title from Felipe Massa in last weekend''s season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix.

"I broke the television, I must tell the truth," The Sun quoted Montezemolo as telling a news conference at a Ferrari event in Mugello on Sunday.

Hamilton wept with joy after becoming the youngest-ever Formula One world champion earlier this month, and roared: “I thank God for this.”
