London, Mar 8 : Elisabeth Fritzl, the Austrian woman whose father locked her in a cellar for more than two decades and had seven children by her, will tell a court next week that she "tried to please him" in a bid to protect her kids from his abuse, it has emerged.

In filmed testimony, the 43-year-old will describe being assaulted by Josef Fritzl for the first time at the age of 11, when she defended herself against rape by "kicking and screaming", says sources close to investigation.

Melbourne, Mar 7 : Austrian incest fiend Josef Fritzl, who locked his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathered seven children with her, expects to spend the rest of his life behind bars, his lawyer has revealed.

Fritzl, who is due to go on trial on 16 March, faces up to life imprisonment if convicted on charges of murder, rape, incest, false imprisonment and enslavement.

"He is 73 years old. The (length of) the sentence is of no importance to him," The Daily Telegraph quoted Fritzl''s lawyer Rudolf Mayer, as telling Austrian state news agency APA.
