Pantaloons' subsidiary Home Solutions retail which looks after its consumer durables and home improvement units is now set to merge with Pantaloon retail in a self merger. The promoter Kishore Biyani said that the merger has been approved and the board has been intimidated regarding this.

The merger will effectively be merging 4 lines of their business which includes consumer durable, home furnishing, home improvement and furniture. Pantaloons Retail India Ltd. currently holds 67 percent in the subsidiary home solutions retail. The company is also expected to acquire Winner Sports Ltd., its wholly owned subsidiary to boost their sports retail business.

From the Home Solutions retail subsidiary, the demerger of consumer durables and the home improvement business has already been approved by the board. Earlier Biyani's future group had decided to spin of its retail chain and list big bazaar.

Home solutions retail in 2006 had raised 120 crore through Kotak and ICICI funds and raised another 150 crore through a rights issue last year.
