Tel Aviv  - Palestinian militants Friday fired 10 mortar rounds at Israeli troops on the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel, Israeli media have reported.

According to the reports the incident occurred after Israeli soldiers had shot at an armed Palestinian who had been approaching a border installation.

The mortars were fired in the direction of a collective farm in the Kissufim area to the east of the Gaza Strip.

There were no reports of casualties or damage. (dpa)
