New York, Apr. 5 : Pakistan has rejected allegations made in a New York Times report that its Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency was "colluding and supporting" Taliban elements against NATO forces in Afghanistan.

"Not only did it (ISI) eliminate scores of important Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders, but it also apprehended hundreds of their members, including key leaders," the Daily Times quoted Pakistan embassy spokesman Nadeem Kiani, as saying in Washington.

In a letter published by The Times, Kiani said, "It also helped in unearthing some insidious global terror plots."

He stated that recurring suicide attacks on ISI compounds in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and target killing of its members in FATA and elsewhere, illustrate the frustration and the damage the organization has caused to the terrorists.

"Pakistan's political and military leadership are in complete agreement to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Anything that goes wrong in Afghanistan is not Pakistan's doing. We need to learn from our omissions and errors and move forward toward the common objective of dismantling the terror infrastructure," he said. (ANI)
