Over 450,000 Students To Appear In CBSE Board Exams In New Delhi
Around 450,000 pupils studying in classes X and XII in the nation capital will appear for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams starting by the coming week.
According to the CBSE, 247,291 pupils will give their Class X exams, a rise of 6.32% as against last year.
Likewise, approx. 199,951 pupils will appear for the Class X board examinations, an increase of 9.28% over 2009.
Out of the total Class X pupils in Delhi, 150,362 are from government and government-aided schools.
This number is almost 11.6% more than the number of pupils who gave their board exams from such educational institution in 2009.
This means a rising number of pupils in Delhi are studying in government and government-aided schools.
Similarly, there are 113,665 pupils from government and government-aided schools who will give Class XII board examinations in the city.
Overall, some 1.6 million pupils will sit for the CBSE's Class 10 and 12 examinations beginning March 3 at more than 5,500 centres spread across the country and abroad. (With Input from Agencies)
