The firm wants to strengthen its position as a foremost the software maker and developers in the international arena. Purchase announcement of Phase Forward is an indicator of Oracle's desperation to enter in to the health-technology market.

The deal will undoubtedly allow Oracle, to develop software and data base solutions for pharmaceutical and health-care companies. As per the recent reports published by Forrester Research, this year the pharmaceutical companies are expected to expend $26 billion on computer hardware, software and services.
