An asteroid or a comet has collided with the solar system’s largest planet Jupiter and the amazing event has been recorded by some intrepid star gazers. They have captured the planet’s latest collision on camera.

On March 17, amateur astronomer John McKeon was looking at the king of planets using telescope from Swords, Ireland, when he recorded the amazing time-lapse footage of something hitting Jupiter.

McKeon was capturing the transit of Jupiter's moons Io and Ganymede through an 11-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and his ASI120mm camera when something hit the planet.

In a YouTube video description, McKeon wrote, “The original purpose of the imaging session was to get this time-lapse, with a happy coincidence of the impact in the second, last capture of the night”.

The northern region of over a thousand-miles long reef is witnessing massive bleaching, announced Terry Hughes, a professor at the James Cook University. This severe bleaching suggests that the conditions are serious for the reef, and harsh El Niño events are all set to initiate a bleaching event, the professor added.

Dickinson lawsuit against Cosby is on hold till Tuesday’s hearing

Decision to consider the lawsuit filed by model and TV host Janice Dickinson against Bill Cosby is on Superior Court Judge Debre Katz Weintraub. On Tuesday’s hearing, the judge will pose questions to attorney from both sides to finally decide whether to dismiss the defamation lawsuit against Cosby.

Last year, Dickinson filed a lawsuit against Cosby stating that he had drugged and raped her in 1982. The Cosby's lawyers are denying her allegations and are requesting for dismissal of the case. Dickinson in response felt re-victimized on being projected as liar.

A new Italian research has claimed that acupuncture can provide relief from hot flashes to breast cancer suffers. The women diagnosed with breast cancer are often tired of hot flashes that become part of their life. The researchers of the study discovered that regular acupuncture session coupled up with good lifestyle could reduce their level discomfort in everyday life.

“Acupuncture together with enhanced self-care for three months is effective in reducing hot flashes in women with breast cancer”, said study author Giorgia Razzini, a clinical trial project manager in the oncology unit of Ospedale di Carpi (Carpi Hospital), in Bologna, Italy.

Researchers Verify Test Results Of Theranos

A study has been conducted by researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai to understand the accuracy of the tests done by Theranos, the controversial blood test company. The blood tests done by Theranos do not require needle jabs; only a prick on the finger is enough. The outcomes have not been very promising for the company. Blood tests results of 60 patients were used to carry out the analysis of tests conducted by Theranos.

These test results were compared with the test outcomes of other larger companies like Laboratory Corporation of America and Quest Diagnostics DGX +0.87%. The analysis revealed that cholesterol levels recorded by Theranos were regularly five to ten points too low.
