Munich  - Bayern Munich have made a new contract offer to captain Mark van Bommel, the club said Friday.

Talks have begun on a new deal for the Dutch midfielder whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Van Bommel, 31, who joined the club in August 2006, has said he would make a decision by the end of the winter break. (dpa)
