New Delhi, Dec 14: Believe it or not, but a woman in China found bean sprouts growing in a tomato when she cut it open to eat.

Daynews.com reported that Li in Taiyuan, northern China's Shanxi Province was very surprised to see a tomato with bean sprouts growing inside it.

The woman said that she thought the tomato was rotten at first glance, but later realised bean sprout were flourishing inside the tomato.

"There are dozens of sprouts, with a length of around 7 to 8 centimetres,” China Daily quoted her, as saying.

As for the scientific reasons, experts from the local agriculture department said that it is very rare to see bean sprouts growing naturally inside a tomato; it’s a case of individual variation. (ANI)
