Three policeman killed, four injured in attacks in Iraq
Baghdad - Three policemen were killed in separate attacks around Iraq on Wednesday, reports said.
In one incident, a policeman was killed and four others were wounded in an explosion near a police station in the southern province of Amarah, a security source told the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency.
Also in Amarah, a high-ranking police official, Saddiq Abdul Azim, escaped an assassination attempt when a bomb struck his convoy, VOI reported.
In eastern Mosul, gunmen shot dead a policeman in a prison for political detainees, a police source said.
Another policeman was also killed by gunmen in al-Shefaa district in western Mosul. Mosul is located some 405 kilometres north of Baghdad. (dpa)
