It is disappointing news for Surya’s fans who were eagerly waiting for his upcoming movie ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. Gautham Vasudeva Menon’s film, which was due to hit the theatres this Diwali on October 27 has postponed its release to November 14.

The main reason for the postponement is being attributed to the slowdown encountered in selling of the distribution areas. In the smaller towns most of the good screens have been taken over by Aegan and Seval.

Finalization of the Telugu rights are yet to be done and the distributor has affirmed that the release of Menon’s mega movie will take place two weeks after the multi starrer Malayalam movie Twenty:20 hits the theatres. Even abroad, Aegan has already done its booking in theatres.

Reflecting on the fact that it will not be favourable to hold two major Tamil movies at the same time Gautham has made a wise decision to hold its release later on.
